The theme of this year’s Geography of Hope Conference,  Finding Resiliency in Nature in Perilous Times is visually explored through Atlas of Decivilization - a show made up of twenty contemporary artists all of whose work goes beyond depiction, beyond bearing witness. Each of these artists turns to their environment as a source of resiliency and force. Humanity is in a state of detachment from the rest of the natural world. These artists are chipping away at our human condition to rediscover the reciprocal ways by which humans find resiliency through nature. In order to recover our natural form, humans must draw from our environment, from the elements. Our resilience is our strongest tool and most powerful weapon.
